Canadian artist Virginia Howlett paints the skies of the Pacific Northwest and the American Southwest. Formerly an Assistant Professor of Painting at Hampton University in Virginia and at New Mexico Highlands University in New Mexico, she won a Mellon Foundation grant for painting in Oaxaca, Mexico.

V
irginia creates her work at an island cabin in British Columbia, in the Sonoran desert of Arizona, and at her Ballard studio. Her exhibitions include shows in Seattle, New Mexico, Virginia, Ohio, and Chicago.
